I qualified from Newcastle Medical school in 2003 with a background in surgery, in particular orthopaedics and musculoskeletal medicine, before qualifying as a GP in 2011. I help lead the organisation from sites in Leeds and Burnley focusing on improving health care access for patients and working to ensure that patients see the right clinician at the right time. In my spare time I play football, cycle and enjoy running.

I graduated from Edinburgh University Medical School in 1988, moved to North Devon in 1990 when I started work in the North Devon District Hospital rotating in various specialities up until 1993 when I became a Partner at this Practice. I enjoy all aspects of family practice and feel privileged to be able to build upon my relationship with patients. I am interested in teaching and am the Faculty Lead for Later Career And Retired Members, Royal College of General Practitioners. I am married to Sarah and have two lovely children. My interests include cricket, music, and photography.

Dr Strickland completed her undergraduate training in Brighton worked in a variety of settings around the country before moving to North Devon in 2014. She completed higher training in general (hospital) medicine, medical law and ethics, womens health, and occupational health before qualifying as a General practitioner in 2021. Dr Strickland is a firm believer in holistic medicine, healthy lifestyles, and continuity of care. Outside of work, Dr Strickland enjoys regular yoga practice and sea swimming and in 2021 I was part of a relay team that successfully swam the English channel.

The average pay for GPs working at the surgery in the last financial year before tax and National Insurance was £47,717.83.This is for 2 part time GPs and 1 locum GP who worked in the practice for more than 6 months.
